🎉 It’s officially been 20 days of the IS THIS A THING? podcast!1
Sure, this isn’t a typical milestone to celebrate, but at ITAT, we’re all about celebrating as many things as we can, especially with—waves hands around in the air—everything going on in the world.
If you’ve already listened to an episode of ITAT, thank you! We’re thrilled to have you along for this hopey-changey, Lisa Franky ride. If you haven’t listened yet, that’s okay! We’re still honored you’re reading these words. When you have a chance, we’d love for you to tune in—it’s a lot of fun, we promise.
Below’s a quick teaser of what we covered in the first three episodes.
We’ve included links for the Apple Podcasts and Spotify versions of each episode, but if you don’t use either of these platforms, don’t worry! You can listen to our podcasts wherever you normally listen to podcasts.
Episode 1: Sliding into DMs to make friends 👯
We have a unique friendship story (which we discuss in this episode!), so it only made sense that our first topic would fall under the friendship umbrella. We both recently2 moved to new cities and have had to navigate making new in-person friends, which, as many of you may know, is near-impossible as an adult. But Abby did identify a successful way to meet people (for her, at least).

Episode 2: Hotel Candy 🍬
Is it the chocolates placed upon your hotel pillow before you arrive? Is it treats sourced from a local pharmacy or grocery store? Traveling is much more pleasant if the journey includes snacks (isn’t everything?), but for Alli, travel snacks mean something very specific.

Episode 3: The Shoppies 🛍️
Do you ever just feel like you’re buying things you don’t need, like putting a bunch of things into your virtual shopping cart will solve all of your problems? Abby sure does! We explore this… “condition”… along with the results of a few recent Shoppies incidents—like the cat mug in the video above, which was 100% necessary for her happiness.

We’ll be back in your ears for episode 4 next Thursday, July 10—and we’re talking all about one of our favorite topics: books.
Until then, don’t forget to give us a follow on our Instagram.
Oh! And in case you missed it, you can get to know Alli here and Abby here.
Putting punctuation in the title of something can make writing about it, well, a bit trickier. It reminds me (Abby) of Panic! At the Disco—hurts my writing and editing bones just a bit.
Well, maybe not that recently, but the pandemic sure did skew all sense of time and space. Alli moved from NYC to Philly in 2020, and Abby moved from DC to Maine in 2018.
